App Identity

Access Journal checks whether readable apps in your Applications folders have a developer macOS can identify and an executable signature that still validates. It flags unidentified developers, broken signatures, and signing certificates macOS does not recognize. These are reasons to take a closer look, not proof that an app is unsafe.

Powerful Permissions

With Full Disk Access, Access Journal reads the system permission database and shows Accessibility, Screen Recording, Input Monitoring, Full Disk Access, Developer Tools, and App Management grants. It opens System Settings when you choose to change a permission.

The App Store sandbox cannot read the per-user records for Camera, Microphone, Contacts, Calendars, Photos, Location, and Notifications. Local Network access also has no readable per-app record. Camera, Microphone, Contacts, Calendars, Photos, Location, and Local Network remain in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Notifications are managed separately in System Settings > Notifications.

Access Journal does not transmit personal data off your Mac.

• The app runs entirely on your device and has no network entitlement.
• App information, code signatures, and permission records are displayed only on your Mac.
• Notes, review status, preferences, and scan history stay in local app storage until you remove that app data.
• There are no accounts, servers, analytics, advertising, or tracking. Xintech LLC receives nothing from the app.

The App Store build never changes a permission or deletes apps or user files. Reset Access Journal Data clears only the app's own local records.
